Leana Chatrath - Foundation Secretary and Senior Program Officer

Leana Chatrath serves in two positions at RSF: she is Foundation Secretary and Senior Program Officer. Leana joined the programs team in 2012. As Senior Program Officer, she is responsible for RSF's newest core program, Behavioral Science and Decision Making in Context, which merged the previously long-standing Behavioral Economics program and the special initiative on Decision Making and Human Behavior in Context. She also manages the presidential grants across all of RSF’s program areas and special initiatives. She became Foundation Secretary in 2021. In that role, she acts as the primary liaison to the RSF Board of Trustees, prepares the agenda and docket for board meetings and maintains board-related records. 

Before joining RSF, Leana was a research assistant at UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education in Geneva. As part of the Capacity Development and Policy Dialogue team, she developed educational training tools and led international conferences and workshops for education policymakers and practitioners. Leana holds an MA in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Switzerland, and earned a BA in International Development and Political Science from McGill University.
