This grant is co-funded with The Policy Academies.
There are currently over 100 known “drowned towns” in the U.S. – towns that were flooded when dams were built. Doctoral student in economics Andre'nay Harris will examine the experiences of residents forced to relocate due to the creation of drowned towns. She will analyze historical Census data and data from the U.S., Tennessee Valley, Family Removal, and Population Readjustment Case Files, 1934-1953 for her study.
