Exploring the Relationship Between Family Member Criminal Justice Involvement, Family Well-being, and Children's Young Adult Outcomes
The enormous expansion of the carceral state in the U.S. over the past 50 years has wide-ranging consequences for children, their families, and their communities. Doctoral student in psychologist Naoka Carey will investigate how family members’ criminal justice system contact contributes to intergenerational transmission of social and economic inequality. She will analyze data from the Criminal Justice Administrative Record System, Census data, the Household Pulse survey, and other sources for her study.
