Watch RSF Webinar: Holding Fast: Resilience and Civic Engagement Among Latino Immigrants

October 19, 2020

On Thursday, October 15, 2020, RSF held the first in a series of occasional webinars intended to bring the research and publications of the foundation to a broad public audience. The webinar featured a live discussion with the authors of the new RSF book, Holding Fast: Resilience and Civic Engagement Among Latino Immigrants, by political scientists James A. McCann (Purdue University) and Michael Jones-Correa (University of Pennsylvania). The authors presented findings from their book, which focuses on how the recent surge in anti-immigrant sentiment—typified and strengthened by the election of Donald Trump—has affected the political attitudes and civic participation of Latino immigrants. The webinar was moderated by independent journalist Alexandra Starr, and featured commentary by Janelle Wong (University of Maryland), author of the RSF book Immigrants, Evangelicals, and Politics in an Era of Demographic Change.
