Awarded External Scholars
Project Date:
Summary
The housing affordability crisis has emerged as one of the most pressing social challenges in the United States. Two of the nation’s most impactful policies addressing this issue are the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC). Despite the importance of these two policies, research investigating how they interact is limited. Doctoral student in real estate and urban planning Yuwen Ji examine the policy interactions between the Community Reinvestment Act and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit as well as their limitations in addressing the affordable housing crisis. She will analyze data on the LIHTC, the CRA, and from state Offices of the Comptroller of the Currency for her study.
