Former RSF trustee, Margaret Olivia Sage scholar, visiting scholar, and author Hirokazu Yoshikawa (New York University) has been awarded the 2025 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize. The award acknowledges exceptional academics whose contributions are considered cornerstones for advancement in our understanding of how children learn. Yoshikawa is being recognized for “his pioneering work linking early childhood research with policy and practice around the world.”
Hirokazu Yoshikawa is the Courtney Sale Ross University Professor of Globalization and Education at Steinhardt, New York University. He is a former RSF trustee, former RSF Margaret Olivia Sage scholar, and former RSF visiting scholar. He is the author of RSF book Immigrants Raising Citizens, co-author of RSF book Cradle to Kindergarten, co-editor of RSF book Making it Work, and a contributor to RSF: Russell Sage Foundation Journal of the Social Sciences issue “Anti-poverty Policy Initiatives for the United States.”
