Former RSF visiting scholars Mesmin Destin (Northwestern University) and Isabela Mares (Yale University) and RSF journal issue editor Atif Mian (Princeton University) were recently awarded John Simon Guggenheim Foundation Memorial Fellowships. Guggenheim fellows are appointed annually in a number of disciplines. Destin was awarded a fellowship in psychology, Mares was awarded a fellowship in political science, and Mian was awarded a fellowship in economics.

Mesmin Destin was an RSF visiting scholar in 2016-2017 and is a member of the advisory committee for the RSF-Gates Foundation Pipeline Grants Competition. Isabela Mares was an RSF visiting scholar in 2007-2008. Atif Mian is co-editor (with Howard Rosenthal) of “Big Data in Political Economy,” an issue of RSF: The Russell Sage Foundation Journal of the Social Sciences.
