Disseminating RSF Immigration Research through the Migration Information Source

Project Date:
Award Amount:
$87,433
Summary

Michael Fix, Vice President and Director of Studies at the Migration Policy Institute (MPI), will lead an effort to disseminate policy-relevant research on second-generation immigrants during the period of January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006. MPI will commission a total of 14 articles on immigration, immigrant incorporation, and the second generation by RSF grant recipients and other researchers. The articles will appear in issues of the Migration Information Source, an award-winning online resource created by MPI and updated monthly, which provides data and analyses of international migration trends for a wide audience of policymakers, academics and members of the media. The grant will also fund the launch of a new page on the Source dedicated to the topic of immigrant integration. In addition, RSF funding will support the creation of an interactive Data Tool that will allow readers to generate one-page fact sheets on the key characteristics of second-generation children, based on data from the 2000 US Census.
