Summary

Since 1990, Latinx populations in the U.S. have increasingly moved from cities to suburbs. This residential shift has fueled suburban growth and created an increasing number of ethnic suburbs, in which Latinxs are the new majority. Yet, little research has focused on why Latinx families across immigrant generation are settling in suburbs and their experiences there. Sociologist Julia Szabo will examine the experiences of Latinx families living in suburban neighborhoods and attending suburban schools. She will conduct in-depth interviews for her study.
