The Costs of Being Trans: Administrative Burden, Citizen-State Interactions, and the Welfare of Transgender People in the U.S.
Administrative burdens adversely impact the lives of millions of people by limiting access to programs that can improve well-being. Despite robust literature on the learning, compliance, and psychological costs of administrative burdens when applying for state programs, there are no studies on these costs that include transgender people in the U.S. Doctoral student in public policy Isaac Sederbaum will examine the impact of administrative burdens on trans people. He will conduct surveys and interviews for his study.
