The Future of Work and Reentry for Emerging Adults

Awarded Scholars:
Elias Nader, Kent State University
Project Date:
Mar 2023
Award Amount:
$30,000

As young people age, they transition into adult roles in society, such as marriage, employment, and parenthood. These transitions also serve as turning points out of the juvenile justice system and facilitate the process of reentry into society as well as disengaging from criminal behaviors. Criminologist Elias Nader will examine the experiences of justice-involved young adults in accessing employment, education, and training, as well as their perspectives on the role of work in their transition to adulthood. He will conduct a nationally representative survey for his study
