Yifeng Luo and Ying Xu will examine the causal effect of unexpected school closures due to safety reasons, natural disaster/weather, and wildfires, on student outcomes. Using 2009–2016 data from the Stanford Education Data Archive, he will also examine whether such closures affect students of different races, genders, and socio-economic statuses differently.
