Announcing 2018-2019 Visiting Journalists and Visiting Researchers

The foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of four visiting journalists and three visiting researchers for the 2018­­-2019 academic year. Visiting journalists work in residence at the foundation for a period of for a period of two to three months alongside resident visiting scholars who might help inform the development of their projects. Visiting researchers work in residence at RSF for up to six months and conduct research in the foundation’s priority areas.

The visiting journalists for 2018-2019 are Rich Benjamin, author of Searching for WhitopiaCara Fitzpatrick, currently a Spencer Fellow; Larissa MacFarquhar, a staff writer at the New Yorker; and Alexis Okeowo, a staff writer at the New Yorker currently on hiatus. Fitzpatrick and Okeowo will join RSF during the fall of 2018. Benjamin and MacFarquhar will join RSF during the spring of 2019.

The visiting researchers are Andrei Cimpian, Associate Professor of Psychology at New York University; Rosemary Taylor, Associate Professor of Sociology and Community Health at Tufts University; and Tom Tyler, Macklin Fleming Professor of Law and Professor of Psychology at Yale University. Taylor will join RSF for the entire academic year. Cimpian will be in residence in May and June 2019; Tyler, from September through December 2018.
