RSF-Affiliated Scholars Named Members of AAAS

Sixteen RSF-affiliated scholars have recently been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS). AAAS members are selected annually and are individuals with outstanding achievements in academia, the arts, business, government, and public affairs. Among the new members named to join the AAAS in 2023 are A. Wade Boykin (Howard University), Maria Cancian (Georgetown University), Amitabh Chandra (Harvard University), Kerwin K. Charles (Yale University), Leo R. Chavez (University of California, Irvine), Kenneth Dodge (Duke University), Paula England (New York University), Stephanie Fryberg (University of Michigan), Rodney Hero (Arizona State University), Michèle Lamont (Harvard University), Amy E. Lerman (University of California, Berkeley), Daniel S. Nagin (Carnegie Mellon University), Brendan Nyhan (Dartmouth College), Shigehiro Oishi (University of Chicago), Laurence Ralph (Princeton University), and Daniel Ziblatt (Harvard University).

A. Wade Boykin is a co-editor of RSF volume Research Directions of Black Psychologists. Maria Cancian is co-editor of RSF: The Russell Sage Foundation Journal of the Social Sciences issue “Antipoverty Initiatives in the United States,” co-editor of RSF volume Changing Poverty, Changing Policies, a contributor to RSF volume Working and Poor, and a former RSF visiting scholar. Amitabh Chandra is a contributor to RSF volume The Biological Consequences of Socioeconomic Inequality. Kerwin K. Charles is a contributor to RSF volume Working and Poor. Leo R. Chavez is the recipient of multiple RSF research grants. Kenneth Dodge is co-editor of RSF journal issue “Using Administrative Data for Science and Policy.” Paula England is co-editor of RSF volumes Unmarried Couples with Children and The New Economic Sociology, contributor to multiple RSF volumes including For Love and Money and The Declining Significance of Gender?, and the recipient of multiple RSF research grants. Stephanie Fryberg is a contributor to RSF volume Facing Social Class. Rodney Hero is a contributor to RSF volumes Beyond Discrimination and Inequality and American Democracy, and is an RSF research grant recipient. Michèle Lamont is a contributor to RSF volumes Evangelicals and Democracy in America, Volume I and The Colors of Poverty, a former RSF visiting scholar, and an RSF research grant recipient. Amy E. Lerman is a contributor to RSF volume Do Prisons Make Us Safer? and is an RSF research grant recipient. Daniel S. Nagin is a former RSF visiting scholar.
