2019 Early Career Behavioral Economics Conference

In 2015, with the encouragement of former RSF trustee Richard Thaler, five alumni of RSF's behavioral economics summer institute—Kai Barron, Teodora Boneva, Stephanie Heger, Paolina Medina-Palma, and Silvia Saccardo—organized the first Early Career Behavioral Economics (ECBE) Conference at the Booth School at the University of Chicago. Following the success of this conference, the ECBE conference has been held annually, alternating between the U.S. and Europe. The goal of the conference is to allow researchers at an early stage of their academic career to present their research and receive feedback from a group of peers and junior faculty members working in similar areas. The conference also aims to strengthen ties between researchers from different institutions and to develop a strong community of early career behavioral economists. 

The committee will organize the 2019 ECBE conference at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), in collaboration with professor Uri Gneezy. The organizers will issue a call for papers in September 2018, with a submission deadline in mid-December 2018.
