Summary

The Asian population is the fastest growing racial/ethnic group in the United States, more than doubling in size between 1960 and 2000, and then almost doubling again by 2019. Despite a growing body of research on the experiences of Asian Americans, a comprehensive understanding of the boundaries around the pan-ethnic Asian category is still missing: To whom do we refer when we talk about Asians in America? Doctoral student in sociology Jocelyn Drummond will examine the boundaries around the Asian racial category. She will conduct a survey experiment and in-depth interviews for her study.
