This grant is co-funded with the Carnegie Corporation
Despite high rates of employment among refugees in their home countries, refugees are at high risk for experiencing poverty in their host countries. Social welfare scholar Mitra Naseh will examine the poverty levels and economic integration among newly settled refugees who arrive under the Afghan Placement and Assistance Program. She will administer surveys to refugees in Oregon and Missouri for her study.
