Summary
This grant is co-funded by the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research.
Workers in the U.S. are increasingly employed by temporary help agencies (THAs) and subcontractors. These “alternative” organizations have faced scrutiny for poor job quality, but their hiring preferences and biases remain understudied. Doctoral student in sociology and social policy Charlotte O’Herron will compare hiring biases between THAs and traditional employers. She will conduct a comparative, experimental audit study for her project.
