Summary

Immigrants and their families live under a cloud of fear that they or a loved one could suddenly be deported. These fears are widespread and affect wellbeing and immigrant integration. Our project leverages changes to immigration enforcement under the Biden administration to ask: can fear of deportation and its consequences be reduced? Using a nationally-representative, longitudinal survey of first- and second-generation Latinx and Asian adults, we will measure changes in deportation-related fears, experiences with, and perceptions of, the immigration enforcement system, and indicators of wellbeing and integration.
