Summary
This grant is funded in part by the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
Documenting the outcomes and experiences of people deported from the U.S. in any country is challenging. However, in El Salvador, this challenge is compounded by intentional efforts by the government to obscure Salvadoran’s experiences with police and in prison. Communications and legal scholar Sarah Bishop will investigate post-deportation experiences in El Salvador. She will conduct in-depth interviews with family members of deportees living in the U.S. for her study.
