Precariously Positioned in Unsettled Times: Workplace Experiences Among LGBTQ+ Adults in the COVID Era

The U.S. has seen a rise in precarious employment in recent decades, with work inequality further exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, little is known about the experiences of LGBTQ+ workers during this period, despite past research that suggests they may be among those most vulnerable to negative experiences in such jobs. Doctoral student in sociology Layne Amerikaner will investigate the experiences of LGBTQ+ workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. She will conduct in-depth interviews with a racially diverse sample of employed LGBTQ+ adults for her study.
