RSF Welcomes New Class of Visiting Scholars, MOS Scholars, Journalists, and Researchers

The Russell Sage Foundation is pleased to welcome the class of 2023-2024 visiting scholars (listed below), along with Margaret Olivia Sage (MOS) scholars Alejandro Portes and Mary C. Waters, visiting researchers Andrew Cherlin, Greg Duncan, Paul Osterman, and Dara Strolovitch, and visiting journalists Mary Otto and Julia Preston.

While in residence at RSF in New York City, the 18 scholars will pursue research and writing projects that reflect the foundation’s commitment to strengthening the social sciences and conducting research for the “improvement of social and living conditions in the United States.” Among the research topics of the multi-disciplinary group are racism and racial equity, barriers to accessing social safety net programs, the media’s role in role in attitudes towards police and excessive use of force, experiences of LGBTQ political candidates, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on low-income and minority urban college students.
