The growth of technology (tech) entrepreneurship is characterized by racial and economic disparities, hindering fair competition for Black and Latine entrepreneurs. Yet, some Black and Latine tech entrepreneurs have achieved success. Sociologist Alicia Sheares will examine how Black and Latine tech entrepreneurs understand and manage ethnic and racial exclusion as well as how race, ethnicity, gender, and immigration status have shaped their experiences. She will conduct semi-structured interviews for her study.
