Awarded External Scholars
Project Date:
Summary
In 2020, support for unionization among the general public and workers reached its highest level in decades. Despite this surge in support, the momentum for labor union organizing tapered off between 2020 and 2024. Doctoral student in government Kiara Hernández will examine how social differences between workers impacts worker solidarity, focusing on differences between native-born and foreign-born workers. She will analyze data from the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, LinkedIn, and union elections for her study.
