Gender differences in work hours are a key driver of the gender earnings gap, but it is unclear how much of this gap is due to employer policies. Economists Marta Lachowska and Stephen A. Woodbury will examine the extent to which the gender earnings gap is explained by differences in work hour policies by employers. They will analyze unemployment insurance data for their study.
