Summary
This grant is co-funded by The Policy Academies.
The state of Massachusetts is in the midst of a decades long housing crisis that is driven by a lack of adequate housing supply. In response, the state has developed a variety of policy interventions designed to increase housing supply. Doctoral student in economics Aja Kennedy will examine the impact of two of these interventions – density bonuses and development subsidies – on housing supply. She will analyze data from Housing Navigator, the National Housing Preservation Database, and Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Low-Income Housing Tax Credit database for her study.
