Applied policy researcher Agustina Laurito will estimate the effect of racial/ethnic disparities in homeownership on the achievement gap between white and black students and white and Hispanic students. She will use Stanford Education Data Archive data matched to data on school-district homeownership gaps from the American Community Survey. The empirical strategy will exploit the richness of SEDA data in models with a large complement of school district controls, year, and district fixed effects, as well as an instrumental variables approach to isolate causal effects.
