Shocks and Low-Wage Work: Experiences of Later-Pandemic Restaurant Work
The first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic saw unprecedented upheavals for workers, businesses, the labor market, and society. Low-wage workers, in particular, have felt the force of these upheavals. However, further research is needed to understand the ramifications of the pandemic on work and workers, years after its onset. Sociologist Ewa Protasiuk will examine the experiences of restaurant workers during the later pandemic. She will conduct in-depth interviews and participant observation and will analyze organizational materials for her study.
