Mary Waters is PVK Professor of Arts and Sciences and the John L. Loeb Professor of Sociology at Harvard University. She is a former chair of RSF’s board of trustees, co-author of the RSF book Inheriting the City, co-editor of the RSF books The New Race Question and Becoming New Yorkers, and a recipient of multiple research awards from the foundation. She chaired a 2015 study on immigrant integration in the U.S. conducted by the National Academy of Sciences’ Committee and supported in part by RSF.
