Special Considerations for Dissertation Research Grants
Reporting Requirements
The reporting requirements for dissertation research grants consist of a single final narrative report due 14 months after the start of the grant (2 months after the grant end date in the agreement). No financial reporting is required for dissertation research grants.
Changes to Project Activities or Budget
Prior written approval from RSF is required for any substantial modification of the research design or deviation from the attached budget. The researcher must contact RSF (grantsmgt@rsage.org) with a summary of the changes. No formal budget reallocation is required for changes to the budget; RSF will issue approval of the changes via email.
Spending Past the Grant End Date
Spending of grant funds is not restricted to a specific grant term. Although the grants are designed to support PhD students in their dissertation year, if the research has not been completed by the grant end date contained in the agreement, no grant amendment or approval from RSF is required to continue spending after the end date. After the end date, the grantee organization must continue to use any unexpended funds to support the dissertation project.
