RSF author and former visiting scholar Samuel L. Myers Jr. (University of Minnesota) has been awarded a 2022 Policy Field Distinguished Contribution Award by the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management. The award is given to honor individuals who have made significant and long-term contributions to the development and growth of public policy analysis and management as a field. The selection committee cited Myer’s contributions to the study of racial disparities and social justice in policy analysis.
Samuel L. Myers Jr. is a professor at Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs at University of Minnesota. He is a former RSF visiting scholar, co-editor of RSF: The Russell Sage Foundation Journal of the Social Sciences issues “Plessy v. Ferguson and the Legacy of ‘Separate but Equal’ After 125 Years” and “The Fiftieth Anniversary of the Kerner Commission Report,” and a contributing author to RSF volumes Prosperity for All? and The Decline in Marriage Among African Americans.
