RSF, together with Columbia University's Center on Poverty and Social Policy, and The Hamilton Project at Brookings, invite you to a discussion of the policy takeaways from the COVID-19 pandemic for reducing poverty and promoting economic well-being for all moving forward.
When: Thursday, September 21st, 1 p.m to 2:30 p.m. (ET)
This event will take place virtually via Zoom.
Zachary Parolin will present findings from his new RSF book, Poverty in the Pandemic: Policy Lessons from COVID-19, in a discussion moderated by Jason DeParle of The New York Times. Discussants Wendy Edelberg, The Hamilton Project at Brookings, and Bradley Hardy, Georgetown University, will join Parolin and DeParle to discuss the challenges faced by low-income households during COVID-19, how the federal government achieved a record-low poverty rate in 2020 and again in 2021, and what lessons ought to be carried forward from those experiences.
