          Summary
Millions of Americans own and carry guns. Experiences with guns, including gun ownership, gun rights advocacy, gun violence, and gun violence prevention, are increasingly related to political participation, political identity, and civic engagement. Sociologist Jennifer Carlson will examine how experiences with guns impact political attitudes, identities, practices, and relationships across people’s lives. She will conduct surveys and in-depth interviews for her study.
