Historically, prisoner reentry services have centered on the individual, emphasizing their rehabilitation and reintegration into society. However, prisoner reentry services are increasingly adopting practices that engage family members and utilize family support in the reentry process. Doctoral student in sociology DeAnna Smith will examine the consequences of family-focused reentry practices. She will conduct interviews and participant observation for her study.
