Tracking Immigration Enforcement and its Effects in Real-Time
This grant is co-funded with the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
The shifts in immigration enforcement priorities since the start of the second Trump administration raise questions about the broader economic and social consequences of the implementation of immigration policies, including how they impact the integration of multiple generations of immigrants. Economist Chloe East will examine the impact of immigration enforcement activity on economic and social outcomes. She will analyze real-time data from several regularly updated data sources that include detailed information about the location and timing of ICE enforcement activity and characteristics of the immigrants being impacted, as well as the Current Population Survey, the Bureau of Labor Statistics Establishment Survey, and the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages for her study.
