RSF-Affiliated Scholars Elected to the National Academy of Sciences

On April 29, 2025, the National Academy of Sciences announced the election of 120 new members and 30 foreign associates in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. The new members include RSF-affiliated scholars Phoebe Ellsworth (University of Michigan), David Grusky (Stanford University), Daniel Nagin (Carnegie Mellon University), and Cecilia Ridgeway (Stanford University).
Phoebe Ellsworth is a former RSF trustee and former RSF visiting scholar.
David Grusky is co-editor of RSF volumes The Great Recession and The Declining Significance of Gender? co-editor of RSF: The Russell Sage Foundation Journal of the Social Sciences issue “Building an Open Qualitative Science,” and a recipient of multiple RSF research grants.
Daniel Nagin is a former RSF visiting researcher and a former visiting scholar.
Cecilia Ridgeway is the author of RSF volume Status, co-editor of the RSF journal issue “Status: What It Is and Why It Matters for Inequality,” and a former RSF visiting scholar.
