Announcing the Visiting Scholar Class of 2025-2026

January 23, 2025

The Russell Sage Foundation is pleased to announce the selection of 17 visiting scholars for the 2025-2026 academic year. While in residence at RSF in New York City, they will pursue research and writing projects that reflect the foundation’s commitment to strengthening the social sciences and conducting research “for the improvement of social and living conditions in the United States.” Among the research projects of the multidisciplinary group are those exploring how racial and ethnic identification change among multiracial individuals over time; factors that influenced states to reduce their prison populations; how Black youth developed political awareness in the years preceding the Black Lives Matter movement; how the impact of single parenthood on educational, mental health, and behavioral outcomes varies among children of different races and ethnicities; the complexities of the home care labor market; how reforms to the National Flood Insurance Program have impacted disadvantaged communities; the impact of “crimmigration” – the merging of the criminal justice and immigration systems – on Salvadorian communities; and the life experiences of vulnerable Asian Americans.
