The vast majority of Black Americans believe that, as a group, Black Americans experience high levels of discrimination. However, when asked how much discrimination they face personally, considerably fewer report that they face high levels of discrimination. Political scientist Zoe Walker will examine how Black American’s perceptions of achieving upward mobility factor into this discrepancy. She will conduct surveys that assess perceived impact of discrimination for her study.
